Modern Groove Assembly is the production name for producer, songwriter, and keyboardist Steve Catanzaro. A musical schizophrenic since conservatory days, he studied for a Masters degree in classical piano by day, and haunted the LA underground jazz and soul scene with by night, with running buddy and roomate Macy Gray. After a tour in the academic world as a college lecturer, a stint in the corporate world as the vice president of the legendary Rhodes company, and entrepreneurship as founder of a large elementary after-school music education program, he now concentrates on music production as MGA. Important collaborators include the vocalist Sy Smith; (the two co-wrote Smith's current hit "Art of You" - with a video in rotation on VH1-Soul, MTV and Centric for most of 2010.) Other collaborators include Cherie Mathieson, legendary LA jazzmen Oscar Brashear and Louis V Taylor, Quetzal Guerrero, and the very fresh vocalist Kes, featured here on "The Third Sign." "Third Sign" featuring Kes, is a brazilian infused jazzy broken beat jam that has got 'summer' written all over it! The stunning club mixes from Taipei's finest, Sona, are set to blow you away. On the other hand, Italian producer Andrea Rango delivers a serious driving Tech-House number which is going to set dancefloors on fire! Once again Stilnovo offers a package full of flavour, where quality and originality are at the forefront. MGA's music has been played and charted by some of the most respected DJs in the world: Patrick Forge (De Lata, Kiss FM), Domu (BBC Radio One) Kev Beadle, Barry King, Daz I Kue (Bugz in the Attic) and many more.
